About Me:

This 2022-2023 school year will be my ninth year teaching at Alvin High School. It will also be my third year as an Instructional Coach for AHS' English Department. I grew up in Alvin and graduated in 2006. Jacket Pride Never Dies!!

On my free time, I love to travel all over the United States with my husband. Our goal is to eventually visit all of the National Parks and states within the US. I would love to travel out of the country and see more of the world, so that's an item on my "bucket" list.

When I'm not traveling, you can find me immersed in a book. Reading is something that I hold near and dear to my heart. I am an advocate for reading inside and outside of the classroom, and I try my best to fit each of my students with books that make them fall in love with reading.

My all-time favorite author is Toni Morrison. Not only does she craft her writing to make her readers feel what her characters experience, but she is not afraid to show us the true human condition. It's the lessons through literature that make us question, think, and challenge our beliefs, all while connecting us to one another though our own experiences.

I also have a love for writing and hope to instill a lifelong love for reading and writing in my students.
