TRANSITION

LIVING - LEARNING - WORKING = SUCCESS

Iowa Code 281-41.5 defines “transition services” as a coordinated set of activities for an eligible individual that is based on the individual’s needs, preferences, interests and goals.

Secondary Transition Services are for all students age 14 and older who receive special education. For these students, the entire Individualized Education Program (IEP) becomes future directed, goal oriented, and based upon the student’s performances, interests, and needs.

Transition services address the skills necessary to live, learn and work as independently as possible.
