Talk to students about different types of technology. (Computer, TV, phone, IPad, etc.) Ask students to raise their hands if they like using technology. Ask them to raise their hands if it's hard for them to turn off technology sometimes. Tell them you're going to help them learn a way to make it easier to turn off technology.Â
Show students: "Pause! Breathe! Finish Up!" video (Click on the icon to the right)
Practice saying, "Pause, breathe, finish up" together a few more times.
Students can play either of the games found to the right for the rest of class. Please help them navigate to their class page and then demonstrate how to play each game:
Click on Google Chrome (This icon is hidden at the bottom of their screens. Have them hover their arrow at the bottom of their screen to make the Google Chrome icon appear.)
Click on "Lessons" in the upper right hand corner
Click on "Kindergarten"
You don't need to demonstrate how to play the whole game. Just get students started and demonstrate a little bit of the game. (If the games won't play on some of the students' computers, click on the puzzle piece in the upper right hand corner of the screen, next to the grey site bar. Click on "Ad Block Plus." Then click on the big blue dot and then "Refresh.")
