• Introduce Google Slides Habitat Project by showing example Project.

• Explain Google Slides Habitat Project below....

1. Show Habitat video, I just play the first part to 1.40 seconds and then play a little bit of each habitat section after that

2. Choose a Habitat 

• Desert, Ocean, Jungle, Polar, Grasslands, Wetlands

• Show students animal homes habitat website so they can get help deciding what habitat they want to choose

• Demonstrate how to open google drive and get a new google slides. 

• Name your project in the upper left corner

• Choose a background image

• Add 2 text boxes for the name of your habitat and your name (make sure you can see the text, if you can't change the text color or fill the text box with another color)

*Remind students that they need to by synced in order to get into google classroom

• Typing Club (5 min)

• Go over Habitat Project Google Slides Project 2nd slide

1.  Show "National Geographic Animal Home" site

2. Title slide #2, choose a sub topic

3.  Demonstrate how to read the information (research) and put it in your own words and type it in your google slide

4. No copying and pasting

5. Must include 1 text box with 2 full sentences

6. Must include 2 images that relate to text box

7. Fill text box if needed

8. Borders around text boxes or images 

9. When you are finished get checked off with a teacher or help desk then you can have free choice time

• Typing Club (10 min)

• Create a 3D T-Rex Game 

1. click on purple T-Rex icon on the side

2. Click on top link

3.  Have students watch video

4. Click start coding

• Ask students to raise their hand if they want to be "help desk" 

• Choose 3 students and have them put on the lanyards hanging on the hook at the back of the classroom

• When a student has a question they raise their hand and the "help desk" students will walk around and help them

• If they finish with the coding game they can explore the website

(CS First should take them to where they were working last time. Demonstrate lesson 5.1, Choose at least 2 add on's, and let students work independently)

• Stop after finish your message and preview your slideshow

• Demonstrate to students how to preview their slideshow in full screen mode and how to ESC out of it

• Choose a friend in the class to show your thank you card to in slideshow view

•  Get 1 compliment and 1 suggestion for something you could do better. Fix the suggestion if you need too
