Driver Education Enrollment Protocol - Effective August 25, 2025
Steps to enroll Polaris and Summit Students for Drivers Ed.
Step #1 Student must have their learners permit. You will be required to show your permit before registering.
Step #2 Identify Your Boundary High School: The parent/student must contact the Alpine School District high school that serves their residential boundary. Check that schools website under Drivers Ed for more detailed information.
If for some reason you can not participate in your boundary school - please talk with Angela Hill at Polaris.
Step #3 Contact Your Boundary School: Let the boundary school know that you are currently registered at Polaris or Summit High (already have a Skyward number) and you would like to be registered for Drivers Ed only at their school.
Step #4 Obtain Specific Information regarding Drivers Ed: You should get information from the drivers ed coordinator regarding what you can expect regarding the drivers ed canvas course, policy/scheduling/availability for behind-the-wheel training.
Step#4 Complete final steps of registration & pay $200.00 fee: Once these steps are finished and the $200 fee has been paid to the school, the student will receive login information to complete the driver education classroom and behind-the-wheel training. Drivers Ed is a waivable fee, however you will need to apply and be approved for a fee waiver at that specific school.
