Driver Education Enrollment Protocol - Effective August 25, 2025
For Homeschool, Private, and Charter School Students
To ensure the safety, compliance, and proper management of all students participating in driver education, a new enrollment protocol has been established. This process is a necessary step for any student who will be receiving instruction in Alpine School District classrooms/online and using state-provided vehicles for behind-the-wheel training. All students who are not currently enrolled at an Alpine School District high school must officially enroll as an ASD student for the sole purpose of taking driver education.
To complete this process, please follow the steps below:
Step #1 Identify Your Boundary High School: The parent/student must contact the Alpine School District high school that serves their residential boundary. Check that schools website under Drivers Ed for more detailed information.
Step #2 Contact the Boundary High School: Connect with the boundary high school to initiate the enrollment process, and be sure to inform them that the student is enrolling for driver education only.
Step #3 Obtain Student Information: Upon successful enrollment you will be provided with an official ASD student ID number and login credentials.
Step#4 Complete Registration & Pay $200.00 fee: Once these steps are finished, the student can use their new ASD student information to complete the driver education classroom or behind-the-wheel registration and payment of $200.
