Memorized sayings: Say the Pledge of Allegiance, sing Happy Birthday, say the days of the week, months of the year while focusing on your target sound.
In the car: Take turns saying words that begin with your target sound. Go back and forth until someone is stumped and can’t think of another word.
In the car: Look for objects or signs that contain the target speech sound. Shout out the objects or words you see with correct articulation.
Hopscotch: Create a hopscotch game with your target speech words.
Speech Photos: Take pictures of items that contain your target speech sound. Practice saying each word. Now when your child scrolls through photos on your phone they can practice their speech sounds!
Sandbox: Bury items in your sandbox that have the target speech sound. Say the word 3 times when and item is found.
Paper basketball: Write each practice word on a piece of paper. Have your child practice each word. Then, crumple it up and toss the paper ball into the trash can!
In the dark: Tape your practice words around the room, then turn off the lights. Have your child find the words with a flashlight! When they find a word, have them say it 3 times.
Take a walk: As you walk around your neighborhood, look for items that contain your target sound! Say it 3 times.
I spy: Take turns describing an object that you see around you. Choose an object with the target sound. Have your child guess the object by asking you questions.
Egg hunt: Write target words on paper and put the paper into plastic eggs. Hide the eggs and send the child to find them! Practice each word as they find them.
Board game: While playing a favorite board game, have your child say 10 target words on their turn.
Picture collage: Cut out pictures from magazines that contain your target speech sound. Create a collage with the pictures by pasting the pictures on a poster board. Practice the speech sound while creating the collage and use it to practice throughout the week.
Memory: Print 2 sets of cards that contain pictures or words of the target speech sound. Play matching and say each word 3 times when it is turned over.
Reading: Have your child read aloud – make sure they pronounce their target sound correctly!
20 Questions: Play 20 questions. Have them focus on producing their speech sound correctly while they are asking questions.

Puppet: Feed word cards or objects that contain the target word to a puppet. Say the target word each time the puppet eats the card or object.
Treat: Place a skittle or M & M on a word card. The child earns the treat after they produce the target word 5 times. Save the treats until the end of the practice session.
Shell game: Put word cards or objects representing the target speech sound under cups. The child chooses which cup to life then says the target word 3 times.
Hot lava: Put word cards on the floor or write words on the sidewalk. Hot lava surrounds the words. The child has to hop from one word to the next and say each word 3 times.
Bean bag toss: Put word cards or pictures on the floor and toss a bean bag. The child says the word that the bean bag lands closest to.
Fishing: Put paper clips on word cards and use a magnet tied to a string to pick them up.
