Lakeridge SAGE Testing

How do you feel about SAGE testing?

By Ryan Sampson What is SAGE? For starters SAGE stands for Student Assessment of Growth and Excellence. It is the standardized statewide test used to see how well different districts and individual schools are learning their material. Despite some of the lowest funding in the state, Lakeridge excels at these testes. For three years running we have averaged around 30% higher scores than the state and district averages. For example, in biology, Lakeridge´s scores are an astounding 100% higher than state and district averages. What is to blame for these impressive scores? Our assistant principal Mr.Stafford gave three reasons, “The first is the students. The students want to learn and progress. The second is the teachers. At Lakeridge we have outstanding teachers that want the students to learn. Last but not least is the families in our community. Families encourage learning and progression. With these three factors together there is an aura of learning that makes it easy to take in the material.”
