July 2023 - June 2024
The STEM Endorsement Incentive Program (STEM EIP) for Alpine District is now open for the 2023-2024 school year.
This includes applications for Alpine teachers who complete an approved STEM EIP course between July 1, 2023, and June 30, 2024.
All courses that were completed before July 1st, 2023, are no longer eligible for reimbursement.
Applications can be submitted to the district at any time, but they will only be processed quarterly. All applications will be reviewed at the quarterly deadlines. Notifications of application approval or if there are any needed corrections will be sent within 2 weeks after each deadline.
The Quarterly deadlines for reimbursement in this application cycle:
October 6, 2023, January 12, 2024, May 3, 2024, and July 15, 2024.
What does the STEM Endorsement Incentive Program (EIP) do?
The Utah Legislature has allocated funding to the Utah State Board of Education (USBE) to use to incentivize educators across the state to achieve endorsements in STEM subjects. The USBE will be using these funds to provide reimbursement for applicable STEM endorsement coursework for both elementary and secondary educators for courses.
Will this opportunity be available in the future?
At this point, the legislature has allocated these as on-going funds (meaning we get an additional $1.2 million each year). The nature of on-going funds means that we will get new allocations to administer this program with every fiscal year until the legislature rescinds the program.
