LETRS Overview
This year we will finish training participants taking LETRS Units 5-8 who started with Units 1-4 last school year.
Each unit includes online coursework that includes classroom application with students as a bridge to practice. This online work is meant to be completed prior to the in-person professional learning sessions to ensure each participant has the background knowledge and vocabulary to successfully engage and participate. The in-person sessions deepen participants’ knowledge of the background knowledge gained in the online coursework.
Each unit will be organized around 4 components:
Online Content: The content is delivered in short segments. Throughout the session, you will complete various activities to cement understanding of the content that was presented.
Check for Understanding: This is a 5-question quiz that assesses your knowledge from the session. It can be taken twice.
Reading: Serves as a companion to the online content, and can be referenced before, during, or after completing the online content and activities.
Bridge to Practice: Transfer learning to classroom application
Each unit will also include one in-person professional learning session.
