Our first concert of the year was held on November 14th, 2023 at the Athenaeum theater. Beginning Band opened the concert with an informance to share what they have worked on during the first trimester. We performed The Storm to demonstrate the work we have done to master breathing, mouthpiece embouchure, and rebound strokes on the drums. Next we played Baby Shark, which showcased the first note, the tonguing technique on woodwind and brass instruments, and alternating sticking patterns on drums. Finally we showed off how we can switch between three different notes as we played Karen Baren and Hot Cross Buns. It was an exciting experience to showcase what we have learned so far on a professional stage in front of an audience!
