The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award / Programa Duque de Edimburgo
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is the World’s leading youth achievement award. Aloha College Marbella will be offering the Bronze Award to a selection of Y10 students, and Y12 students can choose between Gold or Silver Award. The Award concept is one of individual challenge, offering opportunities to set a personal goal and then work to achieve it. Participants are required to complete four sections: Service to the Community, Skills, Physical Recreation and Adventurous Journey. Doing DofE will give you the skills, confidence, and an edge over others when you apply for college, university or a job. You will develop communication, leadership and teamwork skills as well making a difference to other people's lives in the local community. El Programa Internacional del Duque de Edimburgo es el reconocimiento para jóvenes más importante del mundo. Aloha College Marbella ofrecerá el nivel bronce (Bronze Award) a una selección de estudiantes de Year 10. Los estudiantes de Year 12 podrán elegir entre el nivel plata o el oro (Silver / Gold Award). El concepto de este reconocimiento es un desafío individual que ofrece la posibilidad de fijarse un objetivo personal y trabajar para lograrlo. Los participantes deben completar cuatro secciones: servicio a la comunidad, habilidades, recreación física y un viaje de aventura. Hacer el nivel bronce (Bronze Award) del Programa Duque de Edimburgo (DofE) te dará las habilidades, la confianza y una ventaja sobre los demás cuando solicites plaza en la universidad o un trabajo. Desarrollarás habilidades de comunicación, liderazgo y trabajo en equipo, además de marcar la diferencia en la vida de otras personas en la comunidad local. Prices and Awards:
Bronze (Y10): €300 per academic year
Silver and Gold (Y12): €650 per academic year
PAYMENT PROCESS
Payments for activities are done via Schools Buddy. All payment queries should be directed to the finance department.
Activities must be paid for at the beginning of each year.
Parents are liable to pay for the full year of a paid club if their child is on the register. If a child wishes to leave a paid club the parents must inform the school in writing, to externalcocurricular@aloha-college.com.
Students may attend the first session of a paid activity without obligation to pay, but if they remain on the register, parents will be liable to pay. It is important that if students do not wish to attend a club, but have tried the first session, parents must communicate in writing that their child does not wish to join.
Attendance at two or more sessions will incur full payment for the year.
