The replacement cost of the Dell Chromebook is approximately $235.00 and includes the device and power adapter.

Almont Community Schools has created an affordable yearly insurance option for families. This insurance does not provide coverage for intentional damage or damage due to neglect. Manufacturer defect or manufacturer part failure will be replaced by the district at no cost to the family.

The Chromebook must remain in the district-provided case when being transported between classes and to and from school. Failure to do so will nullify any insurance coverage on the device.

Yearly Cost - Paid for by Almont Schools for 2021-2022

• $30.00 per year per device - $100.00 flat rate for 4 or more devices in the same family

• $20.00 per year per device for students who qualify for reduced lunch

• $10.00 per year per device for students who qualify for free lunch

Incident Costs

The following costs are incurred for claims of accidental damage:

• 1st claim: $25.00 deductible

• 2nd claim: full cost of repair

• 3rd claim: full cost of replacement Chromebook

Claims of manufacturer defect incur no costs. Claims of intentional damage or damage due to neglect incur the full cost of repair or full cost of a replacement Chromebook, depending on the severity of the damage.
