In addition to completing the online application (HERE), please submit the following, in one email, directly to Dr. Hancock (hancockb (at) alma.edu):

1. PDF of official or unofficial academic transcript, which clearly shows:

   • Name of declared Noyce-eligible STEM major,

   • Teacher education certification pathway (e.g., Secondary Education Major), and 

   • Courses completed with performance indicator (i.e., letter grade).

2. PDF of your cover letter to:

   • Introduce yourself,

   • Explain your interest in our RESS Program,

   • Rank your preferences for available projects, and

   • Describe your future educational and career goals.

In the application linked above you will be asked to submit email and phone contact information for two faculty members who are willing to write a letter of recommendation on your behalf. These writers must include:

   • One teacher education faculty member.

The Project Leadership Team will review all application materials to assess prospective RESS participants’ scientific background and potential for success.

Applications are due on March 15, annually. The Project Leadership Team will review applications on a rolling basis, and may extend offers to exceptionally well-qualified candidates prior to March 15.
