Dr. Amanda Harwood (Biology and Environmental Studies) are hosting the second of two on-campus conference to (a) share findings and materials of their IUSE Program and (b) engage post-secondary STEM and science teacher education faculty from Michigan around research-based developments related to supporting preservice elementary teachers’ STEM learning.
Up to 30 participants are supported with a $350 stipend, round-trip mileage reimbursement (at $0.50/mile) to/from Alma College, a continental breakfast, and lunch. We will share our latest work developing and implementing Learning Progression-based Modules in integrated science "content" courses for preservice elementary teachers at Alma College.
Attendees will have opportunities to discuss problems of practice around preservice elementary teachers' science learning during breakout roundtable sessions. Session topics are TBD (please indicate your top choices in the registration page).
