Volunteering is a beautiful and enriching experience that truly makes a difference - both for you personally and in the communities we work with. You will never be the same after coming to our program because it's rare to see so many motivated, caring and selfless people working hard together for the common goal. This is who we are and we would love to have you with us!
WHY VOLUNTEER?
Get involved in helping communities recover after a natural disaster. If you have spare time and a willingness to help, you can make a difference in returning individuals and families to their homes and classrooms after the disaster.
Immerse yourself in a multicultural and multigenerational community. Whether you’re in the dorm room or the board room, leadership begins with service. During your time as a volunteer, you will meet volunteers from all over the world with different cultures, ages and backgrounds!
Learn new skills. As a volunteer, you will work alongside your teammates, learning valuable skills, including construction. By the end of your time on program, you’ll be able to return home having learned something new.
WHAT IS IT LIKE TO VOLUNTEER WITH US?
Curious about what it’s like to volunteer? See what a day in life is like in the Philippines. Every one of our programs is different, but at the end of the day, we work hard, help change lives, and rest easy.
Please note: The work in Los Angeles is extremely different from our typical volunteer experience. We are not working in homes and will not be entering the burn zone for work and debris clearance.
The work is largely focused around distribution centers and interfacing directly with impacted community members at Disaster Recovery Centers. This may mean full days of standing on your feet, using technology, and talking to disaster affected people, rather than performing physical labor.
