Gerard's Yard is the Home to the Alleman Pioneers Varsity Baseball Team. It is highly regarded as one of the finest playing fields in western Illinois. The Alleman Athletic Complex was built in 2001. The complex features 2 soccer fields, 2 softball fields, and 2 baseball fields. Major renovations were made to Gerard's Yard by Bush Sports Turf and Wilburn Custom Built in 2023. Every day in the spring, summer, and fall, coaches and players can be seen working on the field. The JV Pioneers play at Gene Oliver Field, which sits adjacent to Gerard's Yard. Alleman groundskeeper Donnie Hauer is an instrumental piece in keeping the Alleman Athletic Complex (and Gerard's Yard) prestine.

At all Pioneers home games, you can see the legendary PA & music crew of Daryl Brickner (left) and Jim Mack (right). These two fine gentlemen graciously volunteer to give players, coaches, and fans a great experience at Gerard's Yard. Often times, they are braving the rough outdoor conditions. Next time you're out to Gerard's Yard, make sure to say hello to Daryl & Jim!
