Reading

Imagine Language and Literacy is a supplemental literacy program we use to aid your child's learning. You can use this app at home for reading and literacy practice. I can also add assignments for students that are directed toward their individual learning goals.

Math

Dreambox is another supplemental program we use to aid student learning in math. Use this app to practice math skills at home. I can also add assignments for students that are directed toward their individual learning goals.

Raz Kidz offers a library full of books that are leveled appropriately for your child's individual reading level. Use this program at home to support your child's reading comprehension, fluency and accuracy. 2 books a day is a goal to reach for.

Letterland

Your child has been learning all about phonics everyday through the imaginary world of Letterland!!! All school issued Ipads have Letterland apps installed. Please feel free to use these apps and let your child introduce you to all 26 Letterland characters. Letterland has also extended it's online resources to parents during this time and it contains more activities and information than the Ipad apps!!!

Sight Words

Sight Words, also known as High Frequency Words, are words that reappear on every page of any type of text. Memorizing these sight words will help your child become a more fluent and accurate reader, which will contribute to their overall comprehension.

Use the lists below to help your child practice and learn sight words.

Writing

Not only are you raising a reader, you're also are raising a writer!!! Yes! We have been working all year on writing skills. From learning how to hold our pencils, drawing pictures with details, letter formations and written words, all the way to complete sentences. Writing in kindergarten does not consist solely of a sentence. Every written sentence has a picture to go with it. Drawing a picture before writing can help us when writing the words on paper! At this point in the year, some of us are writing sentences but we still need to practice and improve our detailed drawings. Here are some the resources we use in class to help in class and you can use at home.

Math

We have been working on math skills and learning how to think about numbers. At school we work in our Go Math workbook everyday and use Dreambox to strengthen and grow our understanding of numbers. You are already very familiar with Simple Solutions from our homework earlier in the year. We have the option to use Think Central to continue learning Math skills and to submit assignments. My students are not familiar with how to access this program but will recognize the content if we should choose this options.
