I was born and raised in Independence, Va. I studied at Virginia Tech from 2006-2010 where I received my BS in Psychology. I moved back to Independence after graduating and worked in Grayson Co. schools for 7 years providing educational support to children with emotional, behavioral and mental health needs. From there I pursued my Master's in Education from Liberty University and started teaching in 2017 at Sparta School. This is my 5th year teaching Kindergarten!

I am married to my wonderful husband Austin who works for First Bank and Trust Company in Abingdon, Va. We have been married for 9 years and have 2 daughters. Josie just turned 6 and Jencie just turned 3! We also have 2 Labradoodles named Gus and Hank.

I love drinking coffee and sparkling water! I love spending time with my family, enjoying the New River and playing in our backyard. I truly love teaching and find myself filling my free time with projects related to my classroom or Pinterest-ing anything to do with teaching!
