Students come to counselling for many reasons — like friendship issues, low self-esteem, or just feeling overwhelmed. Some only need a few sessions, while others may benefit from longer support.
We offer one-on-one, group, and family support — to help you feel heard and supported.
Counselling gives students a safe space to talk, reflect, and understand what they’re going through. It’s a private, non-judgmental space to explore feelings and make choices — with support, not pressure.
Sometimes it’s easier to talk to someone who isn’t a friend, teacher, or family — and that’s okay.
Counselling sessions are planned at a time that feels right for the student — often during the school day. If it overlaps with a lesson, we’ll let the teacher know so the student doesn’t need to worry.
Counselling is private, and what students share stays confidential. We follow professional guidelines to keep their information safe.
However, if there is a concern about a student’s safety or someone else’s, we may need to involve parents or guardians. We will always try to talk to the student first before doing so.
More details can be found in our Counselling Policy on the Parent Gateway.
While the counselling team is here to support, there may be moments when someone needs help urgently or outside of school hours.
In those moments, please reach out to someone you trust — a parent, teacher, staff member, or a helpline listed below.
