Al-Hikmah School Weekend Arabic and Islamic Studies

Al-Hikmah weekend school is open to children on Saturdays. The Saturday lessons starts at 10am and finishes at 1pm. The subjects include: Quran, Islamic Studies and the Arabic language. 

Purpose of the weekend school

The weekend Arabic and Islamic studies school is mainly for children who attend other mainstream schools, and are not able to benefit from our Main school learning programs. Children at the Main Al-Hikmah school also attend the weekend lessons to supplement their Quran, Arabic and Islamic knowledge. 

The weekend school is open to children from local and wider communities to come and learn the Islamic Deen (religion). They will improve their recitations and understanding the of Quran, Learn the authentic Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). And learn the beautiful Arabic language, to write and speak with fluency.

Our Teachers 

The teaching team at Al-Hikmah weekend school comprises of professional Arabic and Islamic teachers with outstanding English spoken knowledge. We recruit the best of teachers with many of years of experience in teaching the subjects. In addition to lead teachers, we employ TA's to assist children in their studies in all year groups. The teachers and support staff are recruited with a rigorous vetting process and are enhanced DBS checked to maintain safeguarding standards. 


Learning Resources 

We use the most authentic form of Islamic teaching and learning materials. The Islamic learning resources are in line with the Sunni Aqeedah. Children are provided with the latest and updated text books and other learning resources for all subjects.


Assessment and reporting

As soon as a child  is registered at Al-Hikmah,  they are  assessed for their abilities in the subjects. Based on the assessment outcome, their teachers are able to plan and ensure the students receive the appropriate level of teachings.  Students are assessed regularly for progression and Termly progress reports are produced for each subject they study. We also have termly meetings with parents to communicate the progress and give guidance on improving their levels of study.

How to apply for the weekend lessons

Please complete the Al-Hikmah Weekend School application form below. The admission process is similar to attending the main school. We will contact you to confirm a placement once an application is submitted. This is subject to our weekend classroom policies.
