Student Director
This person should be an upperclassmen who has past stage experience.
This person would need to be able to lead small or large rehearsals and provide insight into show aspects like: blocking, choreography, set design, etc.
The Student Director needs to be able to draw the line between being a peer and being a director.
This person may also be a cast member but is not required.
It will be expected that the Student Director will be at most rehearsals.
Director’s Assistant
This person can be from any grade and will be more of a helper or “gofer” (go for this/go get that) instead of leading direction.
Tasks may include taking attendance, rummaging in the prop room, making copies, organizing programs, etc.
The Director’s Assistant may also be a cast member and is expected to be at over 50% of rehearsals (not including those they are acting in).
This is a great way to learn more of the “behind the scenes” of how the directing process works.
Stage Manager
This person should be an upperclassmen who has past stage experience.
The Stage Manager needs to be assertive enough to give (and take) clear directions and patient enough to work with peers.
This person would ideally NOT be a cast member (but that is possible).
The Stage Manager’s presence would not be needed until closer to production (approximately 3 weeks prior)
