Freaky Friday the Musical is a contemporary and comedic take on the classic story of a mother and daughter who magically switch bodies. The musical follows Katherine, an overworked wedding planner, and her rebellious teenage daughter, Ellie, who are constantly at odds. The day before Katherine's wedding, a magical hourglass they are both holding shatters during an argument, causing them to swap bodies.

Now in each other's shoes, they are forced to navigate the other's life. Katherine, in Ellie's body, must endure the trials of high school, including a challenging scavenger hunt and dealing with a bully. Meanwhile, Ellie, in Katherine's body, has to manage the stressful final preparations for the wedding, including an important interview with a magazine.

Through their chaotic day, they begin to see the world from the other's perspective, learning to appreciate each other's struggles and hidden strengths. The musical culminates in a heartwarming resolution as they find a way to switch back and forge a new, deeper understanding of their mother-daughter bond.
