Goals, Rules and Expecations

Goals

One of my goals is to instill in each student a new appreciation for the Spanish language and Latino/Hispanic culture. In addition to learning the language my class is exposed to as much Spanish-speaking culture as possible. This is done through traditional research, videos and documentaries and fun, hands-on activities.

Nearly 100% of my students are on a path to a vibrant college career and are taking Spanish as a requirement for a four year college. As such, another major goal of mine in my classes is to instill in the students a solid work ethic, time management and critical thinking skills. These skills are necessary for a successful college career and any career thereafter. My students are young adults and will be held responsible for keeping track of when assignments are due and making sure they are turned in on time and completed fully. Interactive notebooks should be completed in a timely manner and neatly. Homework should be turned in complete and on time.

I believe in all my students and expect them to believe in themselves! I'm looking forward to a great year at ACHS!
