Our Journey

Beginning in 2016, Ellendale Elementary began the formal process to become a Leader in Me School. This was due in large part to generous contributions by community partners, parents, and grants. The Leader in Me is an approach to developing a culture of leadership in our schools and is based on The 7 Habits of Highly Effective PeopleĀ® by Stephen Covey.

It teaches 21st century leadership and life skills to students and creates a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader.

Our staff has been trained by Franklin Covey coaches and are modeling the habits for students.

The habits equip our students with the self-confidence and skills they need to achieve academically and socially. Students learn about the habits daily during LEAD time instruction and are incorporating these habits into every area of their lives to help them be more successful at home, school, and even the ball field!

The motto of our school is Learn, Lead, Serve, Succeed.

We are excited about the GREAT THINGS happening at Ellendale Elementary!
