What's the application process? 

1. 1. Teachers create a team of 3-10 girls in grades 2 - 12. 

   2. Select or create your own STEM activity utilizing ALEX resources. 

   3. Teach the selected lesson to the team/class. 

   4. Begin a student project based on the lesson to showcase at the Expo. 

   5. Check out the sample application, application scoring rubric, and FAQs. 

   6. We are still accepting applications for the Dothan and Heflin Expos. Complete the online application by Friday, January 10, 2025.

NOTE: Team projects do not need to be completed before applying to attend.

Due to limited space, only GEMS team members and their sponsors/co-sponsors receiving a notice of acceptance are eligible to attend the Expo. All sponsors must be LEA employees. Sponsors of accepted teams will receive an email confirming acceptance no later than Friday, December 20, 2024. Priority will be given to teams with projects during the selection process.
