Understand the Sixth Grade Schedule Structure!
All sixth grade students have four core classes, 2 electives of their choice, a PE course, and an intervention period.
All sixth grade students have the option to choose between on-level or advanced RLA and Math. See below for recommendations and things to consider when making the best choice for your child!
Sixth grade students are required to enroll in a physical education course. Students may choose between PE and Pre-Athletics. Pre-Atletics is a course designed for students planning to pariticipate in 7th grade athletics. Students will be introduced to the fundamentals and prepare for team sports offered in 7th grade athletics.

The course selection process includes uploading courses into Ascender Student Portal and our MMS Course Selection Form. Parents and students will complete course selection at home. The MMS course selection form is open from January 4th - 20th. The Ascender Student Portal window is open from January 9th - 20th.
It is important for all students to complete both steps in this process. The MMS Course Selection form is a tool to use for pre-planning and to guide discussions at home in order to select the most appropriate courses for your child. The form includes alternate elective choices ranked by preference and serves as a back up of your course selections. If you need to make changes to your selections after January 20th, please complete a course section change form.
