My summer has gotten off to a great start working for the Fred Ex project in Virginia. I have been assisting with a variety of tasks such as writing daily reports, work expectancies and updating as-built drawings.
This project is working to install the electrical services on the route 95 expressway expansion, a highly automated toll road that requires both power and communication capabilities to the overhead toll systems and digital information signs. While my work has been primarily conducted in the office, I have been very appreciative of my mentor as he has made a point to bring me out into the field as often as possible.
My favorite part about working for Fred Ex has been the amazing group of people who are both extremely talented but also very helpful. They are all great people to be around and make my time at work very enjoyable. I am very thankful for my mentor, Conrad Hartnig, who has been extremely helpful and I cannot believe how much I have already learned from him in the first two weeks and am looking forward to learning more the rest of the summer.
