Rachel McBride 

Hi everyone! My name is Rachel McBride and I am a Project management intern working under Casey Weir in Division 550, at the Data Center in Dekalb IL. Over the past 6 weeks I have been working on a variety of things such as job site walks, safety nets, OFCI forms on Transformers, takeoffs on electrical and telecommunication drawings, closing out submittals, and sitting in on various meetings. This project has been very fast moving, so I have been able to see, and get involved in numerous different things while being here.

I have really enjoyed seeing different aspects and stages involved in project management while working at this internship. Along with being able to observe the work being done on site, Casey has helped me get a really good feel for the "ins and outs" of being a project manager, and has made sure to hit on everything that occurs during pre launch plans, the construction phase, and the closeout phase in projects.

I have really enjoyed working on this project this summer and have had a lot of fun with the other interns, and my other coworkers! Very excited I still have a few weeks left to continue learning and be a part of this project!
