Evan Rocha

Hello, my name is Evan Rocha and I’m from Los Angeles, California. I’m working for division 514 out in Southern California on job number 300853. I’m working under my mentor Todd Simmons on a project for Metro and as we are a subcontractor on this project, it has been very interesting working alongside other project managers and seeing what kind of tasks and responsibilities each one has. As this is my second week, I have mainly been doing a lot of learning.

There’s so many things that I see on this project that make me realize I’m going to be learning every day of this internship. I have been able to do some tasks though to get a better understanding of the responsibilities that a project manager has. I’ve been able to submit an RFI that I created from scratch as well as make revisions to submittals and contact vendors for orders and information regarding their products. But even with how much I’ve learned there is still so much I do not know, especially when it comes to the labor side of things. And I can’t wait to see what this summer will bring my way.
