Hello! My name is Elise Boudreau and this is my second summer at Aldrige now as a Highway Intern. I am in the Des Plaines Office working with my mentor Mike Toomey and other members of the highway team!
I am assisting with the Chicago Arterial Roadway Lighting Improvement Project, working to upgrade and replace the existing light poles throughout the city. Upgrading the existing infrastructure to be wired underground eliminating some risk associated with overhead transmission caused by natural disasters and accidents. This CDOT project can be found throughout most of the city. With this project being so immense it has been broken up into 115 of these sub jobs.
In the upcoming weeks I will continue working on reviewing Forced Accounts and equipment cost, as well as AGILE Project Obstacle Reports. It is helpful sitting in on different meetings to learn more about the project. I am excited to learn more tasks and skills over the summer to create an experience that will benefit me in the future.
