Hello! My name is Eamon Kelleher and I am working in division 685 as an AGILE intern working under my mentor Maribeth Lorenzetti. In the AGILE department we work to help support in the areas of project planning, measuring job productivity, and daily job reporting among other things. Throughout the summer so far I have learned a lot about the different software and platforms that Aldridge uses to measure productivity. This includes JPAC, DJR, and Tableau, but the AGILE department also serves as a help desk for Procore questions and access.
The beginning of my week I spend putting change orders into JPAC and DJR, as well as uploading WBS’ (Work Breakdown Structure) for new jobs when they come in. These days could also include setting up new jobs in JPAC and Procore depending on when the Estimating team sends out new job forms. Then Wednesdays are our busiest days in which we have to DQM (data quality management) every job in JPAC. We leave comments regarding the productivity of the jobs, changes in accounting hours, use of DJR to effectively plan, and the obstacles reported using the obstacle tracker in DJR. These comments are compiled into Tableau dashboards that are separated by project manager and by division. Finally, the end of the week is mostly made up of attending weekly operations meetings, and whatever else comes up. These meetings use JPAC and obstacle reporting to determine how productive the job is doing compared to their initial breakdown and the estimate. The goal of these meetings is to identify any problems before they continue to hurt the job.
This summer has flown by so far, and I am very grateful to have learned so much and to have worked with a supportive team. I am ready to finish strong and see what else I can learn in the time that’s left!
