Hello! My name is Bradley Ruger, I am from Ottawa, IL. Entering my first week in Albany, NY on job number 300470. We are the subcontractor on this site for drilling and pouring. We currently have three drill/pour crews and we are about to add two more crews. There are roughly 200 structures to complete with a current end date of September 15. Between weather and breakdowns, our crew has been working tirelessly to create production towards our end goal.
For my first week on site the first thing I learned was writing up anchor bolt tags and driving to site to label the anchor bolts. This is an important task because if these tags were not labeled correctly or placed on the right bolt there would be wrong sized bolts being picked up, delivered and installed which causes delays and more money. I wasn't stuck in the office all day either, I was sent out to job sites to learn out there too. During my first week, I went out to different locations to watch what they have to do for drilling and pouring. This allowed me to ask questions and have the visual learning aspect. While I was out on site I was shown how to do safety checks and was driven around finished structures to see the before and after.
