It's my personal opinion that 8th Grade Bible is the best class on campus, and by the end of the year, most 8th graders agree. To the left is a short run down of what we're all about.

Jewish customs are a reminder of how God prevails time and time again. If Jesus celebrated these traditions, why don't we? Here in 8th grade Bible, we do! In our current culture where we see so much darkness int eh world, celebrating the Festival of lights and honoring the Hebrew roots of our Christian faith is a good reminder that Jesus is the one true light.
In studying the celebration of Kwanzaa, we see the idea of radical love winning out at a time of deep darkness. The more we're able to understand and relate to different realities and experiences of others, the more wholly we can see to live as Jesus commanded: to love others by meeting them where they are.
There is a LOT going on in the world right now, and it is difficult, if not impossible, for our kids to process it all on their own without discernment, wisdom, and grace. If you don't know where to start, check out the Culture Translator, published by Axis. It's a weekly newsletter covering the 3 biggest things going on in culture that teens are talking about, and it frames them from a Jesus lens, complete with productive and helpful questions to engage your student. I read it every week, and much of it informs our class discussions. Check it out here (axis.org/ct/)
