Pre-IB Program

The Pre-IB program is a hybrid preparation program suitable for students who intend to study the IB Diploma Programme or the VCE. It is designed to provide foundations for both the IB Diploma Programme and the VCE; however, any student who is intending to apply for the IB Diploma Programme in Year 11, should complete the Pre-IB program.

Students who select this program will study:-

• Two Pre-IB subjects 

• Accelerate in one VCE Unit 1 and 2 subject 

• Study Year 10 Mathematics Advanced

• Students are encouraged to select subjects from across the six curriculum areas: English, LOTE, Humanities, Sciences, Mathematics and Create.

Pre-IB subjects are challenging and rigorous and will prepare students for either the IB Diploma Programme or the VCE. Our Pre-IB subjects also incorporate skill-building in critical and creative thinking, research and academic writing. These courses are suitable for students who wish to pursue tertiary studies post year 12.  

Students who pursue enrolment in the IB Diploma Programme will complete their study over two years, commencing in Year 11. Students will be encouraged to study these subjects at Higher Level in Years 11 and 12. 

Enrolment in the Pre-IB program does not guarantee enrolment in the IB Diploma Programme in Year 11.

Cost

Enrolment in the Pre-IB program will incur a fee of $500 in addition to the essential education fee. 

Families should also be aware that if their child decides to enrol in the IB Diploma Programme at Year 11 there is an additional fee of approximately $4300.
