Dear Music Educators,
It is time once more to gear up for our annual Solo & Ensemble festival. The festival will take place in Albany at West Albany High School in the Albany Performing Arts Center on Saturday February 21st. Below you find all of the information you should need to successfully register your students. We would like to encourage everyone to promote participation in this event with your students. Performing in a small ensemble or as a soloist fosters a high degree of individual musical responsibility and helps to reinforce all of good habits that we are trying to teach.
Students may also choose to compete for a spot at either the OSAA State Solo Contest, or the OMEA State Small Ensemble Contest. State Ensemble contest will be held at Mt. Hood Community College and State Solo Contest location is held at Portland State University. The Small Ensemble Contest will be on Friday, May 1st and the State Solo Contest will be on Saturday, May 2nd. There will be more information about this event soon!
