This panel will discuss gender expression as a genderqueer person, and embracing the infinite shades of expression that a person can have beyond the binary.

Through this panel, queer people outside the binary will use their voice and be able to have honest conversations on what it means to be genderqueer in today's society

We are extremely honored to welcome our panelists:

Will is Inupiaq born in Utqiagvik and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. They are a political and Indigiqueer Activist who previously worked for The Alaska Center on projects against Pebble Mine & supporting the Roadless Rule. Will is a co-founder of Aurora Pride — a group providing a safe space for LGBT+ Alaska Natives & Native Americans. They believe strongly in decolonizing views on Gender & Sexuality and empowering native voices in the arena of environmental justice.

Robin Ellis (they/them), Nanook Diversity & Action Center

Robin is a nonbinary student at UAF. Originally from Colorado, they've lived most of their life in Alaska. Robin is very passionate about diversity and inclusion, as well as hearing and learning from other people and their experiences.

Rose O'Hara-Jolley (they/them), Planned Parenthood

Joshua Rose O'Hara (they/them) was born at home too quick for the midwife to make it on Seminole and Timucua lands (Gainesville, FL). They shared that space with their mother, six siblings, and many others growing up. After college, they moved to Lenape and Canarsie land (Brooklyn) where they were loved, embraced, and challenged by their amazing queer family in Brooklyn. Rose worked with others to create a fully inclusive social justice curriculum that among other things talked with students as young as 5 about how gender is a social construct and offered space for all to explore their multiple identities. They moved to Ahtna land (Cantwell) to be closer to family and now live on the lands of the Lower Tanana Dene people (Fairbanks). Rose is the Field Manager for Planned Parenthood Votes and is honored to have worked alongside both queer ancestors and those currently doing the work to help bring Equality policies and magical queer spaces to Alaska.
