What is UA Giving Day?
UA Giving Day is a system-wide event to celebrate and generate support for UA. Once a year, alumni, friends, students, faculty and the Nanook Nation community come together for 49 hours to support the programs at UA that mean the most to them.
You can help us get the word out by becoming a UA Giving Day champion and asking your friends and family to make a donation to support the programs you care about most. We know people are more likely to make a gift when asked by a colleague or friend. Your participation makes a huge difference!

How do I get involved?
STEP 1: Show your Nanook Pride
Join the UAF Giving Day Facebook event!
This is where all the buzz will happen. Post your stories, chat with your friends and colleagues and share your Nanook pride! Join us now and get ready for the big event!
Amplify the message by sharing on social media
Change your profile pictures on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter. Get your digital swag here!
Share why UAF matters to you on your social networks Feb. 22-23. You can download and use some of our images! (Just right click and make a copy.) Use the hashtags #49HoursForAlaska and #NanookNation.
Make your gift
Don't forget to share on social media after you've made your gift and tell your friends why you support UAF!
Register to become a UA Giving Day Champion
Look for messages during Giving Day with updates and info on how to win prizes. Check your email at least once a day to be sure you don't miss anything!
There are countless ways to be an amazing UA Giving Day champion, whether that's sharing on social media, sending emails or making phone calls!
STEP 2: Sign Up and Sign In
If you haven't already done so, sign up to be an official Champion at http://givingday.alaska.edu/UAF. You will then receive a confirmation email. Don't forget that you'll need to open that email and confirm to complete your sign-up!
Once you've officially signed up, visit https://givingday.alaska.edu/giving-day/42088/signup, and navigate to the Champions tab to access your dashboard.

STEP 3: Use the Dashboard
1 View your impact by seeing your social media reach and how much money you have raised by sharing your Champion link.
2 Use these tools to share personalized emails and posts on social media using your Champion link to raise funds for your favorite parts of UAF.
3 This is your unique Champion link. Make sure to use it every time you post so all the money you raise by sharing is tracked!
4 Select the page of the program that means the most to you. Your Champion referral link will direct to this page, so you can encourage others to donate to that area.
5 Shorten or customize your Champion link to make it easier to share.
6 Choose the areas you support and get updates from other areas of UAF that you care about.
7 Download and share exclusive UA Giving Day images on your social media.
