Robert Clark (Secretary, Payload/Structure Engineer)
As the Secretary Robert works with the Project Manager to set meeting agendas and track minutes of any meetings that concern the company. He is also an Engineer in the Payload and Structure group. Robert is currently attending UAA, studying Mechanical Engineering and will be graduating in 2018. Robert has 12 years of experience in the construction industry giving him plenty of hands on experience to back up his educational background.
Douglas Potter (System Engineer - S900 Section)
Douglas Potter is the Lead Systems Engineer for the S900 as well as the Lead Engineer for the Payload group. Douglas is studying Mechanical Engineering at UAA, and will be graduating December 2017. Douglas is no stranger to custom fabrication, he does 3D printing and design in his spare time. Douglas has already dealt with an arctic based technology challenge by designing an automated electromagnetic brake system for a small wind turbine in Igiugig, Alaska.
Clynce Carrillo (Internal Communications Manager)
Clynce Carrillo serves as the Internal Communications Manager of Frontier Drone Tech, making sure communications between the company's’ two location divisions are understood and up to date. Clynce is currently an undergraduate Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering student in the University of Alaska Anchorage, graduating in December 2017. Clynce’s experience in drone technology is stemmed from his years participating in the FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics Competitions throughout High School and his early years in college. These competitions have given Clynce experience and wisdom in robotics programming and more importantly, teamwork and synergy.
Eli Mitchell (Customer Relations Manager)
As the Customer Relations Manager, Eli acts as a communication bridge between Frontier Drone Tech and its customers. Since Summer 2016, he has worked as an Engineering Intern for Siemens. This job has given him experience working under multiple state and federal government contracts with customers such as University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF), State of Alaska Dept. of Transportation & Public Facilities, U.S. Dept. of Defense, and NOAA. Eli is a senior in UAF’s undergraduate Electrical Engineering program, so he brings a fresh knowledge of electrical theory to the table. He serves as Lead Engineer for Frontier Drone Tech’s Power Group.
Richard Chen (Project Manager)
Richard serves as the Project Manager of Frontier Drone Tech. His duties entail overseeing and making sure deadlines for the project are met. Richard is currently an undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. His projected graduation date is May of 2018. Richard interned at NASA Ames Research Center during the summer of 2017. The internship has given him experience working in a professional, interdisciplinary team setting.
Nusrat Jahan (Internal Communication Manager and Instrumentation Lead)
As an Internal Communication Manager, Nusrat’s responsibility is to communicate with all the members of Frontier Drone tech company and make sure everyone in the same page. This position is also responsible for scheduling meeting times between the Anchorage and Fairbanks through email and video conference. She is currently pursuing her M.S. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a projected graduation in Spring 2018. Earlier she worked in a UAV security based paper which was published in a IEEE conference, ICCST-2016. She has experience on several embedded system projects including NASA project. She also serves as Lead Engineer in Frontier Drone Tech instrumentation group.
Garth Hulbert (Instrumentation and Communication)
With a primarily technical workload, Garth’s duties are to ensure seamless integration of computer components on Frontier Drone Tech’s products. He is currently a graduate student pursuing a M.S. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, with a projected graduation in Spring 2018. Prior completion of a B.S. in Computer Engineering has afforded him experience with embedded computer systems, including wireless radio systems.
Daniel Williams (Systems Engineer and Communication, Fai)
Daniel’s duties as Systems Engineer (Fairbanks branch) focuses on helping with system design and integration. He is currently an undergraduate working to get his degree for a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, graduating at the end of Fall 2017. He as worked on a couple of 8-16 bit microcontroller projects, including a flight controller for a quadcopter that has auto stabilization and an omnidirectional mecanum wheeled RC car. His projects have given him insight into thinking about system development over a project's life cycle.
Md Abir Hasan (Public Relations Manager and Communication)
As a Public Relations Manager, Abir’s duty is to oversee the public image of Frontier Drone Tech, development of the website and other media activities. He is currently a graduate student pursuing his Masters of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. His projected graduation date is May, 2018. Prior experience with a number of embedded systems and signal processing projects he can excel a well-rounded skill set to the communication and testing group. He also serves as Lead Engineer in Frontier Drone Tech Testing group.
Luis Marquez (Thermal Systems Engineer)
As the thermal systems engineer, Luis’s primary duty is to ensure that the different components of the UAV are working at operational temperatures. Luis is an undergraduate student working on a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering, with a projected graduation in May of 2018. Prior to working with UAV systems, he has worked on designing a heat exchanger to recuperate lost heat, and is studying heat dynamics of nanofluids.
