for Sustained Coordinated Observations of Arctic Change (RNA CoObs)

Rapid Arctic environmental change requires improved collaboration across observing activities that support adaptation and response from local to pan-Arctic scales.

The vision and mission of RNA CoObs are to create meaningful relationships with Indigenous Peoples through the design of Arctic observing and observation systems and to build a community of practice around Arctic observing that serves societal needs, demonstrates equitable practices, and adds shared value for pressing decision-making needs.

RNA CoObs' driving purpose is:

to show how collaborative efforts in Arctic observing, from the local to the international scale, can be put into action to support Indigenous community needs;

to equitably face the challenges of environmental change; and

to support Indigenous self-determination in the broad societal context (e.g. policy making).
