The Geo Learning Community (GeoLC) offers a variety of support strategies for undergraduate Geoscience Majors at UAF, all of which are intended to increase retention, boost graduation rates, and support students from all backgrounds, especially those that are typically underrepresented in Science, Technology, Math and Engineering degrees. 

GeoLC Participants may also be eligible for the EDGE Scholarship. 

Weekly group meetings include a variety of activities:

• Graduate student and faculty presentations on research projects and careers

• Visits from industry professionals in the Fairbanks area

• Resume workshops

• Undergraduate Research informational sessions

• Group study halls

•  Tours of labs and research facilities across campus

• Goal setting

• Course registration
