There are four major areas for this transition:

The chart above shows the sub-projects in each area and whether they have been started, are in queue, are still being evaluated, are not being implemented at this time, or have been completed.

When is this happening? The first changes, the employee dashboard and updates to the general landing pages, will be rolling out summer 2024. During the transition period there will be some services managed through the upgraded interface, while others will still be managed through the current interface.

FAQ UAOnline Upgrade

What is changing in UAOnline?

The look and feel of the initial UAOnline login page will be improved and allow better use with mobile devices. Navigation from the landing page will be easier and more intuitive.

During the transition period, some services will be managed through the upgraded interface, while others will still be managed through the current interface. As each implementation deadline approaches, we will communicate with affected users in coordination with University leadership, detailing what will be changing and when the changes will occur.

Why are we making this change?

The current version of UAOnline will no longer be supported after November 2025. The new version has improved functionality, is mobile-friendly, and has a more modern, intuitive, and accessible interface than what is used today.

The desired results of this project include:

When are the changes happening?

The first changes will be rolling out summer 2024: the employee dashboard and updates to the general landing pages. At that time end users will see a marked difference in the login experience. Changes to Finance, Employee and Student functions will be phased in over the coming two years with a completion date projected for Fall 2025.

How will this upgrade improve the UA Faculty, Staff or Student experience?

Students and employees expect a more modern interface, compatible with mobile devices, when conducting business with the university. The upgraded platform’s more modern and streamlined look will be easier to read and to navigate to the information that the users want. The platform is mobile friendly and more accessible.

How does this upgrade relate to the Student Information System (SIS) Modernization Program?

This initiative will help give students a more modern interface that can be used with mobile devices and provide a platform for all the technological tools that students use to navigate their university experience. It is one way to modernize the student experience and is a part of the SIS Modernization program.

Where can I find training materials?

As the transition to the new look progresses, training sessions, guides and materials will be developed and posted on the UAOnline Upgrade website.  Announcements will be made to drive users to the materials when they are available.
