“Combination of Healthy Eating and Doing Sport” brings together 5 schools from France, Romania, Poland, Spain and Turkey. The idea of this project is represented by helping pupils acknowledge healthy lifestyles and broaden their horizon in what regards healthy life and habits within the EU. Leading a healthy lifestyle means healthy eating, exercising, harmoniously leaving within nature, learning to deal with our feelings, well-being promotion, socializing in a healthy way and social support.
The necessity to implement this project rises from the fact that schools deal each year with the problem of students who refuse to attend the PE classes and the rising number of overweight students. As educators, we feel the need to take action and prepare the students for a healthy adulthood and personal development.
Since children represent the main concern of society, the project adopts an inclusive approach; therefore, families will be involved as well as local community representatives in a common goal to achieve the activities. We live an age when young people are more than ever before, as results from the World Health Organization reveal.
Our project aims to be an example of how to set the basis of a healthy life for the students outside and inside classrooms. It will offer participants an exclusive occasion to practise learning by doing while discovering it together with their EU partners. By means of this project, the objectives of the ET 2021, the values of the EU Public Health Programme are supported, fostering social inclusion and health.
The project aims is to raise awareness about different and healthy European lifestyles for 100 students from 5 schools during 24 months. The following objectives have been set in order to reach the main aim of the project:
to develop the participants’skills and knowledges as to have a balanced and healthy diet
to determine participants to lead a healthier lifestyle
to provide participants chances to learn in a multicultural background
to exchange good practices at international level.
The objectives are derived from the selected priorities and they reflect each topic of the meetings: Happier Lifestyles (FR), Healthy eating (ES), Healthy mind and body (TR), Nature from A to Z (RO), Peace and unity (PL).
We’d like to make students turn to the rural landscape within our project. So, the students will have the opportunity to understand the connection between people and nature. The nature around us will be explored as well as the impact of people on environment and also the way nature affects health. Sport will represent a way of communicating health related information to the students, and at the same time of building human relationships and create teambuilding spirit. Organizing friendly competitions, setting goals will be supported together with team cohesion and active lifestyle.
The project will result in concrete products such as: a common logo, a common project website, questionnaires, an eTwinning page, conferences, promotional materials, a project poster, a dictionary, introductory videos-“Let me introduce my school”, presentations "Health and Sustainable Development", "Healthy habits", "Nature values and benefits", "Health and wellbeing", exhibition-"Medicinal herbs", seminar-Reading for Well-being, symposium- "Healthy Living, Healthy Life”, Grand quiz –a general knowledge contest about the partners in the project, an Ecosports brochure, a final concert, a project DVD and meeting reports.
The students taking part in the project will benefit from the methods of learning by doing and discovering to create the project results. The project will involve non-formal educational activities which will ease the act of encouraging students to cooperate, come into contact with different lifestyles and create healthier habits. By means of this project the people involved will become more aware of nature influence on their lives.
The project promotes fundamental values at European level, communication, creativity, ICT skills, team work, critical thinking and the wellbeing state of all those involved. The international meetings will include cultural activities and also the workshops will be held by invited external speakers. The students’ knowledge will be developed by the transdisciplinary approach by which attitudes and actions will make learning more engaging, meaningful and challenging.Students will make cross curricular connections (Foreign Languages, Literature, Arts, Geography, Science, Biology, PE, ICT,) and associate them to their daily life.
