What have you been doing since high school graduation?
Since Al-Amal Class of 2010, I attended Concordia University, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry. I then spent four years working in the medical device and pharmaceutical industries, which gave me valuable insight into both business and patient care from a broader perspective. Eventually, I decided to pursue my passion and attended Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine where I earned my Doctorate of Medicine in Dentistry. Following graduation, I expanded my training in oral surgery and have since been practicing in an emergency dental setting.
What plans do you have for the future?
I plan to continue advancing my clinical skills and further expand my surgical techniques. I’m drawn to the precision and problem-solving nature of emergency care, as well as the opportunity it provides to help patients in pain. Long-term, I hope to contribute to the field through research, teaching, and mentorship, while continuing to provide compassionate, high-quality care to my patients.
Beyond my professional goals, I’m passionate about giving back to the community—especially by mentoring and supporting youth within the Islamic community. I hope to help guide the next generation of students and professionals, sharing my experiences to encourage them to pursue their goals with faith, integrity, and perseverance. As a father, I also strive to raise my son and future children with the same values I was taught growing up - Eman, discipline, and service to others so that they, too, can carry those principles forward in everything they do.
How has your Al-Amal School experience impacted your life?
Al-Amal gave me a strong foundation in discipline, ethics, and service to others. Most importantly, the Islamic values I was taught during my time there have guided me through every stage of my personal life, education, and career. The sense of community and support I experienced at Al-Amal instilled in me the importance of giving back and always striving for excellence.
The Islamic teachings of Br. El- Tayash and the guidance of Br. Thani shaped me into the person and provider I am today. While all our teachers were extraordinary, it was Br. Thani whom I appreciated most. I may have been a challenging student at times, but he saw my potential. His patience, the respect he showed us as young adults, and his kindness left a lasting impression that continues to influence me to this day.
