UFLI Foundations Asynchronous Training

UFLI Foundations is a research and evidence based program providing explicit and systematic instruction to students while building a strong foundation and developing the skills that are necessary for them to become proficient and fluent readers. It can be used for Core instruction in Tier I or as an intervention in Tier II or Tier III. UFLI has been approved by DEED for use on schools MTSS plans in the state of Alaska.

UFLI offers self-directed training on their Youtube channel. ARI is working with the training they have provided to support teachers in their learning and implementation of the UFLI program. This site has been developed to provide staff with an asynchronous training program to prepare them to implement UFLI. This course can be taken independently, in a small group, or completed as a whole staff. When completing the modules as a staff, principals may request answer keys to go over the worksheets by contacting melinda.krise@alaska.gov. The final quiz will need to be taken individually to receive credit for the course.

Training

There are 6 modules to complete for this training. Modules includes a UFLI webinar recording and a worksheet to complete. Worksheets are designed to be used as notetaking guides throughout the webinar and include important listening points and information to remember. Worksheets do not need to be submitted. They will however provide essential information for implementation UFLI and the quiz at the end of the course. Upon completion of the modules, a quiz made up of the important information in the webinar can be taken. Passing the quiz is required to show that training has been completed.

ARI will provide staff that complete this training with a course completion certificate, free UFLI manual, additional resources, and ongoing support throughout their implementation of this program. A CEU is available for those who would like to earn a continuing education unit towards renewing their teacher certificate. Information and the application can be found on the CEU page of this site.
