VISION & PHILOSOPHY OF K-2:
The Early Years (K-2) at the Akanksha Foundation are often the children’s first foray into a formal learning environment. This is also a period of tremendous development across the physical, cognitive and socio-emotional domains, making this grade band a critical one in our students’ journey at Akanksha.
The K-2 years aim to create a safe, warm and respectful environment that allows the child to participate in authentic learning experiences that are developmentally appropriate and are centered around the child. The focus is on play and play based experiential methods that allow students to take risks and to develop into curious learners and critical thinkers. The K-2 years also aim to provide a strong foundation for English, including listening, speaking, reading and writing, as well as numeracy.
Our vision is to ensure equitable access to high-quality early years education for all children that helps them develop into curious confident learners and critical thinkers who are respectful of themselves, their peers and the learning environment.
