For the past two decades until now, the Natural Resources Management (NRM) program at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) has actively engaged with the Khao Hin Sorn Royal Development Study Centre. Each year, NRM has sent its dedicated students to participate in collaborative initiatives with the center. This ongoing commitment to community engagement reflects NRM's dedication to practical learning and its mission to address real-world challenges in natural resource management. Through this enduring engagement, NRM students have not only enriched their academic experiences but have also made meaningful contributions to the sustainable development efforts of the center, further solidifying the program's reputation for excellence in the field.

Khao Hin Son Royal Development Study Centre

The Khao Hin Sorn Royal Development Study Centre, established in 1979 in Phanom Sarakham District, Chachoengsao Province, focuses on land development and agricultural practices. Originally affected by issues like forest encroachment and soil degradation due to farming and erosion, the center conducts research and experiments to ensure land fertility. It promotes sustainable agriculture, land and water resource development, and forest rehabilitation. The center also educates farmers in crop cultivation and animal husbandry planning to increase production and income. With a mission to serve as a knowledge source on agricultural development, it offers training in occupational skills, technology transfer, and serves as an education and recreation area. The center operates collaboratively with 11 government agencies and emphasizes sustainable agricultural practices in line with His Majesty's vision, incorporating natural resource conservation, proportional land division, and ecological balance maintenance. Over the years, it has contributed to reforestation, knowledge dissemination, and the improvement of living standards in the region.
