Welcome to AIS-R Middle School

Welcome to AIS-R Middle School - Where Learning Happens! We focus on nurturing the whole child and cultivating learner habits by fostering and encouraging an environment that causes learning through purposeful planning, intentional teaching, and the incorporation of student voice and choice through authentic experiences that foster conceptual understanding and the development of social-emotional competencies. We strive to appreciate the whole child and thus are attentive to developmental cognitive, social-emotional and physical needs; students are valued and distinguished in a variety of ways that allow them to express their uniqueness and explore their abilities. Our student population from grade six through grade eight explore reading, writing, math, science and social studies as well as art, music, performing arts, physical education and health, counseling, design thinking, photography, service learning, and the World Languages of Arabic, Spanish and French. Additionally, students are offered a variety of enrichment opportunities in our after school activities program. AIS-R Middle School is a place where learning is dynamic, hands-on, differentiated, purposeful, fun, engaging and student-centered!

AIS-R Middle School students are expected to follow our Core Values.

We commit to providing an environment that honors our school mission and one where children thrive and our parents are partners. Our greatest hope for our students is to be happy, love learning, and flourish.

NOTE:

In honor of continuous improvement, effective communication and community feedback, our divisional handbooks are “living” documents and updates are made throughout the year. We encourage parents to revisit the handbook from time to time to remain current and up-to-date with our AIS-R guidelines, procedures, and expectations.
