MS Student - Parent Handbook
A Message from the MS Administration
For additional information, please visit the Middle School page of our website HERE
Dear Students and Families,
Welcome to our Middle School!
We are excited to partner with you as we support students on their learning journey. At AIS-R, we believe that learning happens best when we focus on the “whole learner”. This means that we value academic achievement in the content area disciplines as much as we value students’ approaches to learning, or our “transdisciplinary transfer goals”. Our transdisciplinary transfer goals are directly connected to our mission statement, which states that “together, we will cultivate inquisitive, independent, and resilient learners who inspire positive change in their communities.” As such, we are committed to building students’ social emotional skills and mindsets as we know they are positively correlated with improved academic gains and a healthier and more balanced lifestyle.
In our commitment to fostering an environment where every student can reach their fullest potential, we trust that having a common understanding about our school beliefs, policies and practices is the best way to ensure all community members can interact and engage in healthy and productive ways. Our handbook is intended to provide clarity, consistency and coherence so all members in our diverse, international community can exhibit appropriate behavior and achieve success by working together to achieve our mission and EAGLE Profile.
As always, please reach out to the MS Office at msoffice@aisr.org if you have any specific questions about learning in our Middle School.
In partnership,
Kevin Krembs, Middle School School Principal
Jackie Whitney, Middle School Associate Principal
NOTE: In honor of continuous improvement, effective communication and community feedback, our divisional handbooks are “living” documents and updates are made throughout the year. We encourage parents to revisit the handbook from time to time to remain current and up-to-date with our AIS-R guidelines, procedures, and expectations.
