AIS-R Child Safeguarding Team
Identified in the AIS-R Safeguarding Team Structure, this group leads and coordinates all safeguarding efforts within the school. The structure of the safeguarding team is outlined below
Superintendent: Leads the development of a positive safeguarding culture, enforces safe recruitment practices, and addresses child protection concerns.
Safeguarding Governor: Collaborates with the Superintendent and DSL to embed safeguarding within the school's strategic plans, affecting budgeting, staffing, and curriculum.
Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL): Holds primary responsibility for all safeguarding and child protection activities, leading initiatives and policy implementation.
Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads (DDSLs): Assist the DSL and assume their duties when necessary, ensuring ongoing safeguarding efforts.
Specific Roles: Roles like Digital Safety Leads, Clinic Doctors, or Site Security are designated specific safeguarding duties tailored to particular risks in the school.
All Staff and Volunteers: Required to prioritize children’s welfare and safety, actively contributing to a supportive learning environment.
Board of Trustees: Manages overall governance, ensuring all safeguarding practices align with AIS-R policies and legal standards, and focuses on long-term strategic issues.
Parents/Carers: Support the school's efforts to maintain a safe environment, helping ensure that children feel secure and supported in their development.
Crisis Management Team: Formed by the Superintendent in response to crises, this team may include board members, Principals, HR Director, Departmental Directors, nurses, and necessary external agencies, tailored to the specific situation.
